Small update on Kaya cos I know everyone is rooting for her love We have been going out as often as possible every day and i have tried to introduce her to about 8-10 new people each day, at her own pace of course. Well today she bounded up to three different people really confidently while out and about. usually she is quite friendly if the person has a dog with them but these three women did not have dogs, we were outside and she was happy to jump up and basically be a puppy with them. Indoors she is much happier to meet people but this was the first time outside that she was like this.
I was almost in tears I was sooooo happy Rolling Eyes Hopefully she will continue like this and become the happy little girl I know she wants to be.
She is snoring here beside me now but I will try to get some more cute pics of her this eve or tomorrow.
Thanks to everyone for the well wishes and good thoughts for Kaya thumbsup

Aww - I'm nearly in tears reading that last post Ann. I just knew she'd be ok. It's just fantastic that she's making progress so quickly. Long may it continue smile

I met Kaya today and what a lovely sweet pup she is love love thumbsup
She is smaller than I thought and has put on lot of weight from the first photos. She looks like any normal playful puppy and doesn't seem to be bothered by her wound. She was a bit unsure of me first but after few seconds she was all over my face and happy to have a new friend I love you I love you I love you
She is just an adorable little thing and I am so glad we can help this girl and a special thanks to Anne for looking after Kaya so well flower

Kaya went to a more permanent foster this evening. She met her dogs and loved them and after she had settled I left her playing and running around like a lunatic bounce She didn't seem too bothered that we were separating Rolling Eyes So a few tears were shed in this house this evening I love you . If it doesn't work there she can come back here. I hope she is confident enough at this stage to cope with more change and that a new perfect forever home is on the cards for her - no less than she deserves.

Kaya needs a new fosterer asap.
She's coming on great but needs a specific home.
She's great with other dogs and children but will need a home with a dog that doesn't mind her being in it's face and not a young child since she's very bouncy and could easily knock them over.

This little girl has been through the mill.

I love you

Kaya is in foster care with Kylee and is coming along really well. Her jaw has healed as best it could but she'll always have a droop on one side. Kylee is just working on her socialisation and manners now as she's still very jumpy! She's happy to go out the back garden now and with the recent fine weather she spent lots of time pottering in and out of the house - this is huge progress for Kaya as she was absolutely terrified of going outside when she first came into our care.

Kaya got spayed and microchipped yesterday and is coming along in leaps and bounds. She's no longer the scared little pup that I first met. She's quite happy to spend time out playing in the garden now and has learnt some manners from living with kids smile. Her mouth has cleared up nicely, no more infection, although she'll always have a droopy mouth on one side.
When I collected her from the vet yesterday it was the first time ever she walked on the lead back to the car, previously she had to be carried as she was too scared. Kylee has done a fantastic job with her.

Here's some new pics of Kaya taken yesterday.

Kaya really needs to find her forever home soon so that she can settle in for once and for all. She'll be good to go once she gets her stitches out in 7-10 days so if anyone out there has the perfect home for her please post here, PM me or email friendsofbendogrescue@gmail.com
