Dog name: Valiant

Sex: Male

Kennel number: 7

Located: Dunboyne Pound

Picked up: Details to follow

If in pound is stray/surrender? Stray

In on: 27/03/2008

Needs out: 03/04/2008

This guy came in just as I was getting ready to leave so didn’t get many details on him. From what I can gather he has been in the vets. He’s a very friendly, tiny little guy though and was happy to come over for a cuddle. If you can help him please post, pm or call Martina on 086 2228902.

I've noticed that he has a shaved patch on his front right leg - so assume he's been in the vets for something very recently. Worth trying some of them? They'd be sure to remember him as not the usual run of the mill dog.

From what I can gather Chirpy, this guy was left into the vets and his owners didn't want him returned, but as the owners didn't surrender him to the pound he has to do his 5 days stray time. Not 100% sure on this so don't quote me but that's what I picked up yesterday.

Just wondering if the people didn't want him back because whatever the vet found was going to be too expensive or something?? Would whoever wanted him be able to get to see his vets records before committing themselves??
Otherwise why would they go to the expense of having him GA'd and not take him back??

He's obviously got a skin problem. It's possible that he had a deep skin scraping taken under anaesthetic, in which case they probably have the test results?? Just an idea??

Out and safe: Dunboyne Stray Valiant - Miniature EBT Empty His ailment

Post  Tarmina Fri Mar 28, 2008 3:41 pm

This guy had an operation on his anus for something (don't know the details). He apparently got over the operation ok but after 3 weeks owners never turned up for him so vets called wardens. Nothing wrong with his skin as far as I know.

Aaah - he might possibly have had his anal glands removed then??
I just thought that looking at the second photo he appeared to have hair missing from the base of his tail and on his back legs.

This guy needs a foster for about 2 weeks while he is vax'd (and possibly neutered - not sure whether he's been done or not).

Anyone able to take this guy on for Martina for a couple of weeks?

Hiya, as far as I know Martina in Dunboyne Dogs is looking after getting Valiant sorted - if you go to the petsireland site and pm DunboyneDogs she'll be able to update you.

Karen.
