Re: George the boxer needs urgent help....
Are you saying that we need to go through the rescue to help him? can we not contact the owners directly?

Ive pmd Mary about him,my shed should be ready for next weekend so I can foster then if needed.Judging from a pm I got he was homed but now they want rid of him???If certain people stayed out of it Mary would have found him a brilliant home ,very annoying

Re: George the boxer needs urgent help....
The story as i know is i got a call one Sunday a couple of weeks ago from a lady looking to rehome her boxer. She Said her son who owned the dog was going back in to hospital in 2 weeks. The short of it was that she was in no hurry for the 2 weeks i told her i would do what i could. £ hrs later she rang again saying she wanted dog gone as soon as poss. Again told her to give me a day or 2 to see what i could arrange.
Monday phoned demanding George be gone as of then. Told her grand just had to arrange transport. These calls of her continued like this all day getting more and more threating as dog was going into pound. They were going to dump dog etc.
Posted on PI board for transport, couldnt get anyone from her house to city centre rest of way was fine. Thought we had it sorted i told her i would collect dog myself weekend. In the mean time had got him a home with a great couple.
Next thing got a call telling me it was sorted that George was going to another rescue they had transport and foster sorted. Was abit fed up as i had spent days on this but then thought at least dog is save.
Got a pm this morning telling me that George is back up in urgent. Was i mad as i had him sorted and they got involved, they couldnt even be bothered to let me know.
Got a pm of them today telling me they only found out last night that George is now in danger. They said when they went to pick him up he had been rehomed to a family member who has since changed their minds, George is now back with them and want him gone again. Appariently (sp) from the pm i got she said this family have had 2 dogs taking of them before in a very bad state.
Sorry for going on.

Re: George the boxer needs urgent help....
It must be very frustrating to deal with people like that but you did all you could to help him Mary. Latest I heard is that they are working on something for him so, fingers crossed that this time will be a forever home for George. We'll keep an eye on his thread and hopefully it will be good news soon. Unless anyone has any better idea...

George
I was pm'ing the rescue yesterday backwards and forwards to see how I could help I offered him a home here but it is in the uk so I would have needed assistance in getting him here, I offered to pay for kenneling but they didn't think that was an option as their kennels are full and I asked if she could ask for a short term foster if he was to come here to the uk to me. They then replied saying they thought they may have something sorted. I have sent them a message today asking if he is sorted but so far no reply! It's very frustrating and upsetting when you try every option you can to help a dog but nothing is quite right. I just feel he needs to be got away from the family asap and then sort him out with a forever home. I will be devastated if he goes down Tracey xx

Re: George the boxer needs urgent help....
The only thing I can suggest is that Mary contacts the owners again directly, as she was in contact with them in the first place, and asks if he has been sorted. If he has still not been sorted and is in danger of being pts then maybe she could take him until Tracey can sort out transport. It seems pretty straightforward to me, but perhaps we would be p1ssing people off by interfering??? At this stage I'm past the point of caring to be honest, and am of the opinion that whatever get the dogs out and safe is what needs to be done.
George
I did see on PI today that someone there is going to be running a service transporting dogs from Ireland to the Uk for a fee. I'm quite happy obviously to pay that charge but guys I would really need someone to help me out your side of the water. I am just a dog lover who wants to help I don't have any facilities or knowledge of how things operate and even if I can't help George (because I know Mary had a lovely home in Ireland for him) I will be making donations to FOB. No prob with me phoning but i cant find the number deleted it of my phone when i thought he was sorted. People wasnt worried about pissing me of when they interfered, if they had a left alone he would be in his new house now. All i was looking for was a help with transport, even then they knew i was supposed to be doing it myself that weekend.
