Ralf the GSD/Lurcher boy
Ralf, as many of you know, was close to meeting the same fate as poor Ben. Instead, he's been our foster dog for three weeks now, and is an absolute joy.
He's bonded very closely with our greyhounds, especially Reilly (see below), and is just a cuddle-monster.
He did have a bit of tummy trouble to start with but didn't once have an accident in the house - so proud of him - what a star! :star:
He's very well-behaved generally, a bit puppyish still of course, and prone to putting everything in his mouth to see what it's about (like any toddler!), but on the whole, a very good boy.
He did have an offer of a rescue space with Pat at Mutts in Distress in Essex but we were concerned that his separation anxiety was still a problem and so wanted to foster him a while longer to help him get confident again. Pat will still take him at a future date should he require, but we're hoping he'll find a forever home before he ever has to go in a shelter - as despite the obvious difference in comfort, a shelter may still distress him having been in the pound twice in his short life. (Only eleven months, poor boy). Pat suggested we try lurcher-oriented groups and we have found one group in the UK who should be able to foster him in a few weeks' time, with a good possibility of rehoming from there.
If anyone knows someone who'd be interested in rehoming Ralf, either side of the water, we'll happily hop in the car and go visiting! (He does jump in the car at every opportunity - even when we're just taking out the shopping...)

lol Ed. Millie's exactly the same. My Dad was doing some work in my garden and he left the car door open while he was pottering around. Millie jumped in the drivers side and curled up under the steering wheel and refused to move for ages
ralf
Those photos are fab, the two of them together looks so sweet. Nice work Ed , you are doing a great job with him..

Good News!
Hi everyone,
Good news! Ralf may have a new home very soon!
A lovely family in the North of England are looking for a second rescue dog as company for their greyhound girl and Ralf is travelling over around the middle of the month to meet them and see how they get on...
Watch this space!
Thanks to everyone for their support.

Re: Ralf the GSD/Lurcher boy
Hi everyone,
Just to let you know Ralph has settled in brilliantly with his new family in the UK. They have three kids who adore Ralph and a greyhound named Elsie who you can see playing with Ralph in the picture below. There are some more pictures on his DID thread for those interested. http://www.dogsindistress.org/node/1258
Thanks to Lilliput for the loan of the crate and to Charlie for her help.
Thanks to everyone for their encouragement and support in finding Ralph a new home.
