White American Akita Found in Leixlip

This beautiful girl has been straying in the Riverforest area of Leixlip for over a week now. I've made several attempts to catch her but she was very nervous. Tonight I spotted her while I was out walking Millie and Sandy and managed to get her to follow me home and fed her and she's calmed right down now and has even come into the kitchen for a little lie down and a cuddle. She's wearing a collar but no id on it. Managed to take the collar off to make sure that there's no phone number on the inside. Will be taking her to the vet in the morning to check for a microchip.

For now she can have B&B here.

An update on this girl.

There's a post in the Found section on the ISPCA website about her so I phoned the number. The woman has been taking care of her the last few days but she's able to open doors and gates and she escaped again today. She's been sleeping at the foot of this woman's bed for the last few nights but she can't hold onto her so the original plan of me taking her to the vets tomorrow to scan her is going ahead. Depending on the outcome of that tomorrow we'll have to come up with another plan from there.

For now she's flaked out on the kitchen floor here having a nice nap!

Well she's microchipped but the microchip is registered to the breeder and there's no phone number so I've sent the details to the kennel club in the hope that they'll be able to find out the details and get the breeder to contact me.

She's a gem of a dog - had all three out for a walk this morning and they all got on like a house on fire. Then had her and Millie in the back of the car going to the vet (Millie has another lump but that's another story) and again the pair of them got on absolutely fine.

She's good on the lead, seems to be housetrained, will sit on command. Someone has to be looking for her.
