Most urgent!!! *sorted*
I need help. When I picked up my son at six pm at his creche in Flagmount, Co. Clare I was informed by the staff there that a dog had been dumped outside their gate in the morning. The poor dog had been sitting outside the gates all day in peeing rain. The dog is old and matted. It took me several attempts to get him into my car. I have NO room whatsoever but couldn't leave him there . He will have to spend the night in the back of my car.. Can anyone help with this dog please??? I am full up and simply cannot accomodate another dog. He wore no collar and seems to be in good shape apart from being matted. I have informed the County Clare dogwarden but this dog stands NO chance in a pound. Can any rescue help out please? I have always taken dogs from other rescues in the past and now I am stuck myself. Anyone?

I wish I could help too but I can't at the moment
You did great taking him for the night and I hope someone will come forward to help.
Did you test him with other dogs?

It's really heart warming to see that so many people are rushing to help me once the shoe is on the other foot for a change. I will certainly remember all the help and support I got when I had a dog with nowhere to go. Thanks a million!

Sarah,
We are full to the gills. Elena asked if you had tested him with other dogs yet but you haven't answered. All of our foster homes have dogs in them. If he's not good with other dogs then we have nowhere for him. We need more information on the dog before we can do anything.

I am ALWAYS full to the gills yet have always managed to help out. Never mind, she is sorted with emergency foster via another board. This can be deleted.
Re: Most urgent!!! *sorted*
I am glad that this dog got sorted.
If we had known what was the dog like with other dogs we could have tried to find a suitable foster home for her. We have no facilities and cannot take in every dog in urgent need; this is why, when we cannot help with fostering, we always offer help with covering costs for food, kennelling, medical care, etc. This dog needed an urgent foster home and I am sorry we didn't have one straight available. It doesn't mean that we did not want to help or did not try to help.

its one of the down sides i suppose, you try to help a dog and dont think twice about it untill your left with a dog you cant move, that happened me so much last year and ive tried to learn that i cant save them all, especially when its a rescue that you only supposed to have for 2 weeks but it turns into 6 weeks, glad she is sorted she is a beautifull looking dog

Re: Most urgent!!! *sorted*
Yes, Elaine, because I am amongst very few rescues that takes staffs and the only one who takes Pits. We were NOT talking Bull Breed here but ickle hairy Collie x. I have NEVER asked for any rescue help with a dog in my care, this was the very first time in eleven years and the responds was overwhelming.
I have bend over backwards on several occasions to help and try save a dog NO ONE else would touch.
But as I wrote before - it is sorted. I have learnt my lesson, that's for sure.
EGAR is now officially closed for ANY intake of dogs.

Re: Most urgent!!! *sorted*
Sarah,
We were not the only people you asked for help. You also posted on PI but I don't see you having a go at all the thousands of members there that didn't help you.
This thread has really pissed me off. I, and many of the other members here, spend our lives and our hard earned money trying to do our best for the dogs, and our best is all we can do. I'm sorry I'm not Superman and can't make homes and foster spaces magically appear from thin air for dogs that we know absolutely nothing about.
I am locking this thread now as this matter is now sorted.
