Rex - American Bulldog pup *gone to rescue*
Rex is a lovely 4-5 months old pitbull who was surrendered to the vets after being hit by a car. He went into foster care and then got suddenly very sick and had to go back to the vets. We did not post him earlier because we weren't sure he would make it through. But we are now very happy to say that Rex has been doing really well in the last few days and the vet said that we can take him home!! This is the best news for Rex because it means that after all the bad luck he had, it's now time for him to start a new life. His cast will come off in the next few days and he just needs to put up some weight now.
Rex is a lovely boy and everyone in his foster home loves him to bits .
Rex is booked to go to a rescue soon and we are very greatful to all the people who helped him in these last few weeks

Re: Rex - American Bulldog pup *gone to rescue*
Rex has been with me just one day and he has already stolen my heart
He is very skinny but has a great appetite so this is all good for Rex. The poor boy has been through a lot and it's unbelievable how loving and trusting he is he made friend with Taffy pretty soon and I have to make sure that he doesn't play too much - he still needs to rest until we can take his cast off
he's just a beauty...

Re: Rex - American Bulldog pup *gone to rescue*
and this is Rex today...
He got the cast off on Monday and today we went back to the vet to get the stitches out. The vet was very pleased with him, he has already put on some weight and is slowly starting using his leg again. He got a full service as well when he was there so now Rex is fully vaccinated and microchipped
He is a very good boy and not a problem at all in the house with the other dogs, he is a lovely and adorable puppy

Rex is still doing very well, I can't stop saying how good this baby is
He is eating well and it is unbelievable the difference on him in just a week. You can still see his ribs but is so much better already than last week when I collected him at the vets. He gets on great with Oscar and Belle and is not problem at all in the house: housetrained, rarely barks, playful and affectionate.
I took him out for a little stroll in the park yesterday and at first he wasn't sure about other dogs we met, but after some sniffing he was all ok .
I had a little helper today and Rex was very happy to have a new friend to play with

Re: Rex - American Bulldog pup *gone to rescue*
well Rex went to his rescue today and we found out that he is actually an American Bulldog and not a pitbull
it doesn't really matter at the end, he is now safe with a great rescue and he will stay with them until fully recovered from his injury and ready to be rehomed!
The rescue had already a Rex so they had to find another name for him , so Rex is now Lexi, we'll keep in touch with the rescue and post any update on him on here
Good luck Rex and a big big hug from me, Oscar and Belle

Re: Rex - American Bulldog pup *gone to rescue*
I had the pleasure of meeting up with Rex/Lexi again today who is being spoilt rotten with Sarah in Egar.
Here's a couple of pics of him. He's after getting bigger and broader since the last time I saw him a few weeks ago but he's still the same adorable, happy go lucky, bouncy little puppy that he was when he left.
He's fitted in really well in Egar as we knew he would. Everyone who meets him is as smitten as we were.

What can I say ?
I keep him in a dark basement because he is so ugly and un-cute....
He's smooshilicious (I made up that word just for him!)
